The competitors don’t just cook their chili, they also select a wine to pair it with. Then, the judges pick the best-tasting chili –and– they decide how well it goes with the paired wine. That’s how the winner is chosen.

Since 1985 A Taste of The Litchfield Hills has attracted thousands of guests to the state\’s oldest winery for delicious dishes outstanding wine live entertainment upscale shopping plus winery tours wine tasting and romantic strolls on the vineyard walk. Held annually in June on the weekend following Father\’s Day the two-day festival features \”grazing-sized\”” portions of house specialties are served by local restaurants bistros and purveyors. Haight-Brown Vineyard wine by the glass draught beer and nonalcoholic beverages are also available for purchase. Covered table seating is available plus guests are invited to picnic on the grounds with their lawn chairs and blankets.
